"Speedtrap"

Doug and I had dinner at Baur's Ristorante, 15th & Curtis, Downtown Denver... tonight to celebrate his birthday. What a devine meal!!!!! The salad, the entre'....everything.....fabulous. We had a window table with a view of the clock tower on l6th Street. We were treated like royalty by Jimmy Lambatos........a wonderful evening. Drop down to Baur's if you want a special dining experience!!!!! "Speedtrap" is one of my paintings that hangs in one of the dining areas of Baur's.

Painting en plein air.....l6th Street Mall

I went painting at the l6th Street Mall yesterday......I saw a half dozen other painters and had a great time. I hope to go back out tomorrow!!!!! It's such a challenge to "brave the elements".

Try to stop by D Gallery!!! I am participating in the "Metro Retro" show for the month of September. D Gallery, 3558 Navajo Street, Denver, Co......one block south of Zip, Next, Edge and Pirate Galleries. There are four artists participating with contemporary - retro inspired paintings.

Paintings at Racines Restaurant

The show is hanging and I am very proud of how all my paintings look in the restaurant. I hope if you are in Denver Racines will be one of your stops. They are located just off Speer Blvd. at 650 Sherman Street, Denver.

I painted for most of the day today......as I did yesterday. I still have some work to do to completely finish it but I am becoming excited to call it done. I sure hope that Ben likes it!!!!! Check on my older posts to see how this painting looked a few weeks ago and also to find out about some up-coming shows that I will be participating in.

Make comments, too.......I love to hear what you are thinking.

Speedtrap & View from the Museum of Nature and Science

"Speedtrap" is on top.......and can be seen at Baur's Ristorante/15th & Curtis.

"View From the Museum of Nature and Science" shows the lake and distant mountains.
I think I can call it done........I could keep painting but I think I'll consider this painting complete. Sometimes the evolution of a painting takes patience.

I plan to include this piece in a show at Racine's Restaurant, 650 Sherman St., Denver, Colorado. All paintings will be hung the morning of September 5th. It's a great place to eat and drink....I hope you can stop by while my work is being shown. You'll be able to see about eleven pieces until October 31st!

I also have paintings in the dining area beyond the bar of Baur's Ristorante. Baur's is located on Curtis and 15th Street. You can't miss it. The entrance is just below the vertical theatre-district style sign.....B A U R 'S. It's fine dining with a lively atmosphere and fantastic food.

Oops.....I forgot to mention that I have aspen landscape paintings in the dining area of the Whole Foods Store in Centennial Colorado...6853 York Street. They will be there until the end of September.

You can see more of my work at: www.DenverArtists.com/marlenefeinholz, contact me at duzart@comcast.net.

"On The Plains of Hesitation" and Cape Buffalo for Ben

Pictured here is a painting that I did called "On the Plains of Hesitation" for my son Ben and another piece that I've been working on of a Cape Buffalo.....also for Ben.......I'm sure he thinks this one will take as long as "On The Plains Of Hesitation". That piece took me ten years to complete!!!!!! I've only been working on the cape buffalo for a few months but I had BETTER GET ON IT.......hopefully, I can finish it up in the next couple of weeks.

Rubbings & Paintings * Neighborhoods in Denver

I've decided to share another one of my rubbings and the subsequent painting. Let me know what you think. I have four of them completed and am looking forward to getting started on another soon. I did a couple rubbings in downtown Denver during the 4th of July weekend that I'm very excited about!!!!! Hope your summer is full of fun!

I started these September 2008 after thinking about doing them for the past 30 years!!!!! My.......some things really take time to get done!!!! Let me know what you think. I plan to have a show where I will have the rubbings framed alongside the paintings.

Left Handed Irises

I stressed my right arm out by painting too much so I decided to give it a rest by using my left hand. Michele gave me some of her irises and the depth of purple inspired me to get going before they wilted. This has definitely been fun !!!!!

"Small Pieces"

I have not blogged in quite some time. I fell in October and triple fractured my right arm so my painting has been slower. Now I have some pretty fancy "jewelry" holding my arm together. I've included an xray of my fabulous implant!!!! Also, here are a few small pieces that I have done with my right hand propped up on the edge of a table.......I usually stand and use my whole arm but that has been difficult.

In February I finally started a larger painting .... 24 x 30.......it's a scene behind the Museum of Nature and Science looking over downtown Denver to the mountains......it's where I had gone in October to take some "better" photographs than I already had to work from when I fell. oops!!!!!! I'm excited about completing it. I'll post it at that time.
