"Heading Up 17th"

I was inspired by the annual National Western Stock Show Parade in downtown Denver to paint the longhorns and cowboys heading up l7th Street from Union Station. I plan to create some other pieces of the city with a western flair to be included in a show this August. Let me know with your comments which piece you like the best....the small loose version or the larger more defined piece?

Pathway Through the Snow - City Park Denver

Getting out to paint in the snow is not something I would normally think as comfortable. However, when I was out with my artist-friend, Debbie McAllister, recently painting in City Park in the afternoon I actually was warm and cozy. It surprised me as I usually shy away from standing in one spot in the cool air. I had a great time and look forward to going out again soon.

I have been having fun doing some "plein air" paintings by painting out of the windows around my house and studio. I have been trying to create a piece whenever it snows.....and I understand we are going to get another snowstorm today!!!!

"Taking a Peek"

I have created quite a few small pieces of the Blue Bear peeking into the Colorado Convention Center.....there are a couple of them available at Abend Gallery and Great Western Art on 14th and Curtis. This one is 18" x 24". I am fond of the statue because it was created by a LOCAL artist, Lawrence Argent. The name of the piece actually is "I See What You Mean". I like to call my interpretations "Taking a Peek" or "Just a Peek".........I like the humor of the statue.....it always cheers me to drive by and see it. This painting can be seen at Great Western Art, 1455 Curtis, Denver.
