I painted this portrait of a young boy on his rocking horse for a customer from Colorado Springs....it was quite a challenge as my reference material was a small black and white photograph.

George, Champ and Sage

I completed this portrait last week......wishing as I was working on it that I had completed it prior to my left hand surgery.....even though I'm right handed!!!!!! I'll get my cast removed Dec. 7th......(I had a new joint made for my left thumb.....I have a genius surgeon......hopefully, I'll have a bad memory so I will be able to have the same done to my right hand.....right now that does not sound like a very good idea!!!!)

"Henny"

I just completed this adorable pooch!!!! He's been delivered and a spot has been chosen in which to display him. He was fun to work on.

I have just been commissioned to create a portrait of two dogs with their owner! It will be quite a challenge and I look forward to getting started on it.

Sherman and Annie

It was pointed out to me that I had never blogged about two of my very very favorite dogs in the world....."Sherman" and "Annie".......they live with my buddy, Cherie' and her husband Joe.....in Pittsboro, North Carolina. They both guard the miniature horses that Joe and Cherie' raise.....last time I checked they had over seventy of them on their horse farm......a beautiful place. Sherman and Annie and I became good friends on my visit out there.........in 2008............my, how time flies!!!! I was afraid of Annie at first but we buddied right up......I better start making some travelling plans!!!

Mask Project Denver 2010

I just checked the bidding history on the two masks that I created for the Mask Project Denver 2010 and found out that the Blue Bear mask that I did on behalf of Richard Scharf, President and CEO of the Denver Convention and Visitor's Bureau sold with fourteen bids for $350.00. I'd love to know who the anonymous bidder was!!!! The mask that I created for Dana Crawford of the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame sold online after two bids for $70.00......what a bargain!!!!! All the proceeds benefit Denver Hospice......makes me proud to be a part of such a great event. If you scroll through my posts there are pictures of both masks.

Currently I am showing at D Gallery, 3558 Navajo - some aspen scenes which will be showing there for another week to ten days. All of these paintings were painted in plein air. If you haven't been to D Gallery as yet you will be delighted with their presentation of all the artists' works.

I am also showing a group of paintings at Sports Optical. They are located at
4337 Tennyson ...... just a few buildings south of the 44th Street intersection on the west side of the street. They are open Tuesdays through Saturdays....closed on Sunday and Monday. They will open, too, on First Friday, May 7th. Most of my work there has been painted en plein air in the neighborhood.

I have been making some fun earrings. I paint colorful combinations on linen canvas, glue it to finished leather, embellish some with line drawings and/or stones, put on the wires or studs and voila'!! I have been wearing them myself...they are lightweight and colorful. (You can order a pair for $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping if you so desire. To see the full line that is currently available just drop me an e-mail at duzart@comcast.net. They are all different and delightful!!!!

"Longhorns in Parade"

The 2010 National Western Stock Show is on the horizon....I sure hope that the weather is warm, sunny and clear for this year's parade. I'd like to get downtown while it's on to snap some new pictures to work from in the coming year!!!!
