"Heading Up 17th"

I was inspired by the annual National Western Stock Show Parade in downtown Denver to paint the longhorns and cowboys heading up l7th Street from Union Station. I plan to create some other pieces of the city with a western flair to be included in a show this August. Let me know with your comments which piece you like the best....the small loose version or the larger more defined piece?

Pathway Through the Snow - City Park Denver

Getting out to paint in the snow is not something I would normally think as comfortable. However, when I was out with my artist-friend, Debbie McAllister, recently painting in City Park in the afternoon I actually was warm and cozy. It surprised me as I usually shy away from standing in one spot in the cool air. I had a great time and look forward to going out again soon.

360 degrees of 5090

I have been having fun doing some "plein air" paintings by painting out of the windows around my house and studio. I have been trying to create a piece whenever it snows.....and I understand we are going to get another snowstorm today!!!!

"Taking a Peek"

I have created quite a few small pieces of the Blue Bear peeking into the Colorado Convention Center.....there are a couple of them available at Abend Gallery and Great Western Art on 14th and Curtis. This one is 18" x 24". I am fond of the statue because it was created by a LOCAL artist, Lawrence Argent. The name of the piece actually is "I See What You Mean". I like to call my interpretations "Taking a Peek" or "Just a Peek".........I like the humor of the statue.....it always cheers me to drive by and see it. This painting can be seen at Great Western Art, 1455 Curtis, Denver.

"17th Annual Holiday Minatures Show"

I am very pleased to be participating in Abend's annual Holiday miniature show. Opening night was busy even though it began snowing early on into the evening. One of my pieces sold before 7 p.m. which added to the evening for me (I've posted a photograph of the piece that sold. Its title is "Hail Progress VII"). You'll see the red dot with an empty nail in the photograph. The show will run through December 29th, 2260 East Colfax Ave in Denver. Drop in if you have a chance.....the show is full of a lot of exciting pieces.

"Fall Magic"

I painted this at Urban Roots at l0th & Acoma, in the Golden Triangle of downtown Denver. The weather was perfect and I had more fun than ever painting on location!!!! I hope it shows!

"Searching for Knowledge"

It does not seem possible that it's been two months since I last posted anything. I wish time would stop flying by so fast.

I participated in Denver's first annual High Plein Air Arts Festival by painting outdoors on location. Two of my paintings will be shown at the Colorado History Museum 1300 Broadway November 2 through the 24th. There will be a gala grand opening November 2nd 6-9pm. I will be showing two paintings that I painted near the new Denver Art Museum.
