Left Handed Irises

I stressed my right arm out by painting too much so I decided to give it a rest by using my left hand. Michele gave me some of her irises and the depth of purple inspired me to get going before they wilted. This has definitely been fun !!!!!

"Small Pieces"

I have not blogged in quite some time. I fell in October and triple fractured my right arm so my painting has been slower. Now I have some pretty fancy "jewelry" holding my arm together. I've included an xray of my fabulous implant!!!! Also, here are a few small pieces that I have done with my right hand propped up on the edge of a table.......I usually stand and use my whole arm but that has been difficult.

In February I finally started a larger painting .... 24 x 30.......it's a scene behind the Museum of Nature and Science looking over downtown Denver to the mountains......it's where I had gone in October to take some "better" photographs than I already had to work from when I fell. oops!!!!!! I'm excited about completing it. I'll post it at that time.

Painting On Curtis Street

Well..... the Democratic National Convention week was full of fun and excitement. I went downtown to the gallery everyday and painted on-site. It was a thrill to witness all the commotion. Many people stopped and talked and also bought the historic poster that I had created for the event. I took the bus both ways everyday and enjoyed not being stressed out about parking my car. The posters are still available at the gallery, located at 1455 Curtis Street, online at Great Western Art Gallery, LLC or by calling me at(720-855-0252). Oh, also....I'm wearing one of the belt buckles designed for the DNC by the owner of the gallery, Hilliard Moore. They, too, are available in many designs at the gallery. Now I just wish I was able to go to the RNC!!!!!!!!!

Show at Great Western Art - Aug. 16 - Sept. 27th

I hope you will have a chance to drop by Great Western Art, 1455 Curtis Street, to see my newest work. The opening was fun despite the rainy evening. The Democratic National Convention posters that I created are selling fast.....$10.00 is such a bargain. They frame up beautifully ... there is one in the window of the gallery. I will be downtown near the gallery painting now and then next week. Perhaps I'll see some celebrities!!

Mounted Police - 16th Street Mall - Denver

I wanted to share this painting with you even though it's not quite finished. I will be showing it at Great Western Art in August. I have always enjoyed seeing the mounted police patrolling in downtown Denver. I plan to include them in some future pieces and will post them at a later date.

Historical Democratic National Convention Painting/Poster/Giclee'

The owner of Great Western Art in downtown Denver, Colorado, Hilliard Moore, asked me if I would be interested in creating a poster for the upcoming Democratic National Convention from a historical point of view since I paint scenes in downtown Denver on a regular basis. I agreed to come up with my personal concept. Since the convention was held in Denver in 1908 at the City Auditorium, a half a block from Great Western Art on Curtis, I thought it was an interesting project. As you can see from the photograph of the painting, I also painted the Pepsi Center where the convention will be held in 2008 in August. If you have an interest in the original painting, it will be shown in August at Great Western Art and posters and giclees will also be available through the gallery. Their phone number is 303-396-2787 and the gallery is located at 1455 Curtis Street. The convention will be an exciting time in Denver!
